This week we made mini muffin pizzas and fruit salad. The childrenÂ enjoyed cutting their fruit using our safe ‘bridge’ technique which involves making a bridge with your thumb and forefinger and going under the ‘bridge’ with your knife to avoid cutting fingers! This is the safest and easiest way of cutting and we use it a lot at cooking club. We also made pizzas using sliced muffins as a base. This was so fun and simple to do and the result was scrummy!
To make the pizzas we used breakfast muffins (we used Kingsmill muffins from Asda but any brand will do!) We sliced our muffins in half to make two flat bases.
We then spread tomato puree on the flat side of theÂ muffin and covered with grated cheese. You can then add whatever toppings you like! We used pepperoni and sweetcorn.
Once you have created the perfect pizza, ask an adult to bake them in the oven for around 10 minutes at gas mark 7 until the cheese is melted and the muffin is crispy.
As you can see from our pictures, the children enjoyed making the pizzas and cutting the fruit and we all agreed that the end result was delicious!
